Mythic and poetic, Anastasija Pudane is bringing femininity to the forefront of her narratives. Pudane started her artistic journey while attending the prestigious Janis Rosenthal Art School in Riga, Latvia. With the rich, wooded, Baltic landscape surrounding her during this time, it seems only fitting that Pudane’s illustrations to this day have a mysterious and haunting quality to them. Upon her completion, Pudane moved to the United Kingdom and enrolled in a foundation degree program at Camberwell College of Arts in 2014. Since then, Pudane has decided to call London her home and is currently completing her Master of Arts degree at the same institution.
Highly in tune to her surroundings, Pudane draws inspiration from her experiences. She revels in the minutia, and lets every detail shine. Pudane cites Frida Kahlo, David Hockney, and Haruki Murakami as the biggest influences for her practice.
