When it comes to the Denver Fashion scene, not many companies or brands immediately jump to mind. Annie Carlson and Sonora Goldman want to change that. The longtime friends, who have collaborated on artistic endeavors for years, launched Chick Habit in November 2016. The streetwear brand developed rapidly in the weeks following the American presidential election. Founders Carlson and Goldman wanted to create a brand that truly helped people.
Not only is Chick Habit a sustainable brand that uses vintage and thrifted clothing, but it also donates 10 percent of all sales to Planned Parenthood to benefit people in need of its medical services. Carlson and Goldman stress that giving back to the community is the most fulfilling part of Chick Habit, and that it’s what the community truly needs right now.
