Hailing from Great Falls, Montana; Drew Austin has become one of Denver's young artists to watch. Austin recently graduated from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design as valedictorian of his class in 2017. Upon graduation, Austin secured a coveted studio space at the Temple, one of Denver's most sought-after contemporary studio spaces in the heart of the RiNo Art district. Originally focused in installation and sculpture work, Austin's practice has become fully interdisciplinary with his new-found interests in painting and college work. Though working in various mediums, Austin's themes are succinct. Often working around his own experiences, much of Austin's work is about interpersonal relationships, connection to oneself, connection with the natural world, and experimentation with artistic practices themselves.
