New York city, New York
Performance art has a way of gripping the viewer and immersing them in to a fantasy world, even if only for a minute. Erica Schreiner takes this idea to its full extent in her wonderfully visceral, and often unnerving videos. Schreiner is an internationally recognized performance artist currently based in Bushwick/New York City who has studied under revolutionary artists such as Marina Abramovic.
Incredibly invested in community, Schreiner is very much involved in her local art scene contributing by way of hosting open mic nights in the East Village to publishing works through Blue Pear Projects, a New York City based multimedia institution run by Pollux alumni Alex Norelli. Schreiner also founded Marietta, an art magazine specifically regarding performance art and the conversations within the medium. Her sheer drive to immersively create has captured many admirers and the attention of The Bill Hodges Gallery, MoMA PS1, and Eckhaus Gallery.
